Pancakes Pancakes Pancakes
Slow Sunday Morning pancakes are where it’s at! Ironically, I didn’t have the slow Sunday I wanted and rather did some work to get ahead for the week. However, these double chocolate chip pancakes were a dream and just had to be made.
The easy recipes are always my favourite because they always work, create minimal mess in the kitchen and make my heart so happy! In this recipe I used organic cocoa powder and chocolate chips. I also drizzled in some melted chocolate for good measure and as a result I got pure decadence in a pancake!
I personally love using 70% dark chocolate, I think it works the best in baking. It also creates a great texture and flavour. I know it seems like you can use any old chocolate but the better the quality of the chocolate you are using, the better the recipe will be.
This is a great recipe if you want something very quick fro breakfast. Sunday’s with kids can be a busy time, so these double chocolate chip pancakes have you covered. I love to put everything in my blender and then just blend the ingredients together. It’s a time saver and you still get delicious pancakes.
I topped these divine pancakes with some Greek yoghurt, fresh kiwis and more chocolate chips, because, why not??
Have a wonderful week everyone!
Bon appetit,
Zorah xo
How to get the best Double Chocolate Chips Pancakes:
- I like to blend everything in a Nutribullet so that it combines well. But you can also stir everything together by hand if you don’t have a blender.
- As I said above, I love using 70% dark chocolate, but you can use any dark chocolate. I haven’t tried milk chocolate, therefore, I am not sure if it works for this recipe.
- The pancakes are very thin in texture, this is because we are mixing melted chocolate inside. This will create a more thin and dense pancake.

minutesChocolate for breakfast? Heck yeah! These gorgeous chocolate pancakes re also filled with chocolate chips and I paired them with fresh kiwi and coconut yoghurt to make them even more divine.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups flour
1 egg
1 1/2 cups of whole milk
1/3 cup melted dark chocolate (70% or more)
2 tbsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. organic cocoa powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips
3 tbsp. melted butter
Directions
- Melt the dark chocolate in a microwave or a double boiler until the chocolate is fully melted. Stir every few seconds to avoid burning the chocolate.
- Then in a blender or Nutribullet, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder, melted butter, milk and melted dark chocolate and blitz until smooth (roughly 20-30 seconds).
- In a warm flat based pan, melt 1 tbsp. of butter and once it starts to sizzle you can add half a ladle of your pancake mixture and at this point, sprinkle on a few chocolate chips.
- Once the pancake starts to bubble, flip it around to cook the other side for about 1 minute and then remove from the heat and enjoy!
